Taiwan

Travel & Holidays

16th Century Portuguese navigators called Taiwan, Ilha Formosa, ’Beautiful Island’. A tiny island just off the Chinese mainland with a wealth of mystery of the East, ancient Chinese culture and traditions, spectacular scenery and of course thriving modern industries. This fascinating island can offer the visitor a wide range of cultural and sensory delights, from classical Chinese architecture to the modern cityscapes of Taipei. From museums filled with wondrous treasures to sights to behold of mountains and lakes, from the frantic streetscapes of its cities to the aborigine cultures of its native peoples. All this and more can be found in The Beautiful Island.
