Guangzhou

As the largest city in Southern China, Guangzhou has a history dating back to the Zhou Dynasty (850BC).
Guangzhou was also the first Chinese city to trade with the outside world. Situated only a few hours along the Pearl River from Hong Kong, the city is the ancestral home of many overseas Chinese.
PLACES OF INTEREST

Chen's Ancestral Temple - this 100-year-old temple was once the ancestral temple and study of 72 Chen families in Guangdong in the Qing Dynasty.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall - a famous commemorative structure of Chinese revolution built in 1931. The interior is decorated with paintings and patterns of strong national features.
Western Han Nanyue King Tomb Museum - Discovered in 1983, it is the earliest large-scale painted stone-chamber tomb ever found in south of the Five Ridges.
Flower Pagoda - it is a renowned Buddhist cultural site, built in 537. The temple enshrines three large Buddhist statues, the biggest copper Buddhist statues existing in Guangdong Province.
