Marina & City Centre

Beneath the futuristic skyscrapers which embody modern Singapore, much of the grand colonial charm still remains. The heart of colonial Singapore straddles the mouth of the Singapore River, where Raffles first landed. Adjoining the Civic Centre is the Marina Bay area of Singapore, which is home to some of the city's best hotels, shopping malls and convention centres.

PLACES OF INTEREST

Supreme Court - built during British rule in 1939, this building is one of Singapore's finest.
City Hall - beside the Supreme Court, this was the site of the Japanese surrender in 1945, during World War II.
Padang - home to the Singapore Cricket Club and Singapore Recreation Club. From here are great views of Singapore's skyline.
Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay - performance arts complex located at the waterfront, comprising a concert hall,  theatre, rehearsal studios and shops.
Shopping - great shopping opportunities can be had at Raffles City Shopping Centre, Suntec City Mall, Millenia Walk or Marina Square Shopping Mall; all within walking distance of each other.
