Orchard Area

The Orchard Road area of Singapore is a destination in its own right for most visitors, because it offers a multitude of shopping possibilities and a good choice of accommodation. Orchard Road's department stores and shops are all located close to each other and can be navigated either on foot or on the MRT underground rail service. Air conditioned underpasses and covered walkways link most of the shopping complexes and department stores, making for a pleasant and convenient shopping experience.

Shopping Malls - visit some of Orchard Road's largest malls e.g. Tanglin Shopping Centre, Palais Renaissance, Hilton Shopping Arcade, Pacific Plaza.
Peranakan Place - restored Peranakan or Straits Chinese style buildings which are now home to several restaurants and a pub.
Singapore Art Museum - just off Orchard Road, this museum has the largest public collection of 20th century Singaporean and Southeast Asian art.
Fort Canning Park - for a respite from shopping, visit this historic park near Orchard Road.
